Fawlty Towers: The final check-in
14th to 19th September 2015 at the Chrysalis Theatre, Milton Keynes.
Over the past years we have staged 9 of the 12 episodes of the brilliantly funny Fawlty Towers (Fawlty Towers in 2010, Return to Fawlty Towers in 2011 and Fawlty Towers Revisited in 2014). In September 2015 we returned to Torquay to enact the final stories.
Each performance included the following episodes:
“The Wedding Party”: Basil gets annoyed when a young, flirtatious couple start “hanky-pankying” under his nose and tries to avoid the advances of a wealthy French antique dealer. Meanwhile, misfortune conspires to put him in compromising situations whenever the couple are around…
“The Psychiatrist”: A psychiatrist and his wife (also a doctor) come to the hotel for a weekend break, and cannot help but notice the eccentricities of their host, who is perturbed when he discovers their professions. A very attractive Australian girl also visits. She goes on to have certain awkward interactions with Basil as he seeks to catch Mr Johnson with a non-paying guest that Johnson has in his bedroom…
“The Kipper and the Corpse”: With no regard to Basil’s blood pressure, a guest dies at the hotel and Basil and the staff are left with the unpleasant task of removing the body discreetly while the doctor staying at the hotel, Dr. Price, waits for his sausages…
Written by John Cleese and Connie Booth. By arrangement with Samuel French.

What our audience said about the show
“This really was outstanding from start to finish – the characterisations, mannerisms and acting were spot on from everyone, have to mention Cybil, Basil, Polly and Manuel as I honestly thought I was watching Scales, Cleese, Sachs and Booth… quite brilliant minute observations captured … all the other smaller parts were excellent and the comic timing perfectly executed… the set was cleverly designed to see multiple action throughout and I really felt I was in the Fatty Owls Hotel. Well done to every one in MK TOC as this is truly a piece of top quality drama that does what it says on the tin… this has production values as good as the West End… in fact, it should be there… take it… NOW!”
“Fatty Owls exceeded all expectations… great theatre, brilliant set and very polished performances from all!”
